How it works

From scan to settlement, in one flow.

LayOver is deliberately simple at the counter. The complexity — combining baskets, splitting payments, routing tickets — happens in the layer.

Three steps

Onboard. Order. Fulfil.

  1. 01

    Onboard the outlets

Each participating counter or lounge is set up with its menu, pricing and settlement details. A QR code is placed at tables, seats or the lounge door.

  2. 02

    Travellers order and pay once

A traveller scans, builds one basket across outlets or buys lounge access, and pays in a single checkout in the browser.

  3. 03

    Outlets fulfil, money is split

Each outlet receives only its own ticket. The payment is allocated to each outlet’s share, and the airport sees the combined activity.

One order, end to end

Who does what.

  1. 01TravellerScans a QR code at a table, seat or lounge entrance and opens the checkout in the browser.
  2. 02TravellerAdds items from any participating outlet into one basket and pays once.
  3. 03LayOverSplits the basket into one ticket per outlet and allocates the payment to each outlet’s share.
  4. 04OutletReceives only its own ticket, prepares, and marks it ready. Lounges issue a timed pass.
  5. 05TravellerSees each item’s status against their boarding time and collects with a pickup code.
  6. 06AirportSees combined activity across participating outlets in the space.

The system

Where LayOver sits.

  1. 01

    Airport

Sets the checkout standard and sees combined activity

  2. 02

    Outlets

Food counters and lounges, each with its own menu and settlement

  3. 03

    LayOver

One ordering, payment and allocation layer

  4. 04

    Traveller

Scans, builds one basket, pays once

Integration

What we discuss with each partner.

Every terminal is different. These are agreed during pilot scoping rather than assumed.

  • Payment acceptance

Which payment methods travellers can use and how settlement reaches each outlet.

  • Counter workflow

How tickets reach staff — a tablet, a printer, or alongside an existing system.

  • Airport requirements

Brand, data-handling and reporting requirements set by the airport.

  • Physical placement

Where QR codes and signage go, and who maintains them.

Launch partners

Let’s put LayOver in a terminal.

We’re looking for launch partners — airports, food courts and lounges — to pilot one checkout across their outlets.
